Let the Sun Shine in...
Although we have been busy, we did get a few hours to squeeze in a margarita and a kickball game Tuesday. Kara and I need quality time together even if we aren't riding bikes. While enjoying our yummy blood-orange margaritas outside at Bourbon’s Bistro, we discussed the next two Las Lindas events which are going to be amazing! Details to come so stay tuned!
Speaking of events, check out the 5th Annual Crescent Hill Outdoor Cinema series. June 20th is “Jaws”, July 10th is a Bike-in showing of “Breaking Away” and August 1st is a double feature: "The Ghost and Mr. Chicken" & "Casablanca". All shows are at the Peterson-Dumesnil House, 301 S. Peterson Ave., and all are free to the public. Concessions will be available. They suggest a blanket or lawn-chair and a little bug spray.
We will have much to report in the next couple weeks. We want everyone to be aware of our upcoming events that will begin as soon as we get back from Miami on June 5th. Get your cruisers polished ladies, because we will be riding pretty in no time.
And in the meantime, LIVE OUT LOUD!

Road ID - Safe AND Stylish
One of the main objectives for the members of Las Lindas is to ride pretty. Helmets are not always fashionable and can oftentimes ruin a fabulous hairstyle (one done by our favorite stylist, Che' at Jerry Heston). We would never ask you not to wear a helmet but if you choose not to, we will ask you to be safe. And being safe has never been so stylish with the creation of Road ID.
Recently I was introduced to Road ID and jumped on the safety wagon (which plays a continuous beat of the Safety Dance...sorry, I had to). For just $20, you get a wristband in your favorite color with all of your contact information as well as a nifty little saying - we suggest "Viva Las Lindas!"
This way, you can ride pretty, show off Che's master-styling skills AND ride safe.
And the founders of Road ID are from the Bluegrass State to boot!

Carla is a stylemaker.
It's official because it was published in the paper: Kara is my best friend.
Las Lindas do Thunda '09
Las Lindas kicked off the spring by riding bikes to Thunder over Louisville. (Image: Kara on her sweet Schwinn). Ten of our closest friends jumped on bicycles and cruised around town, kicking off the Derby season in the best way. We started at Kara's in Germantown, rode to Derby City Espresso, down to the waterfront, 732 Social then to Debbie's house for a fiesta. This was the first ride where I broke out my portable iPod player - which is such an amazing little invention. About the size of a wallet, it hooks onto my basket and plays some serious tunes. I created a mix loaded with all songs "Thunder"!
